Meet the Legacy Team

Lisa began her optical career in 1988 at the Eye Care Center of America in Fayetteville, NC.  During this time, she became pregnant with our own, Dr. Kyle Keyser, who was born in 1989.  She returned to Long Island with her family in 1990.  She worked at Spectique Optical in Shirley and OpticLite Plus, a finishing lab in Holtsville, prior to her starting as an Optical Assistant with Seifert Eye Associates in January 1995. 

Again, Lisa was pregnant with our lab technician, Tyhler, who was born in June 1995.  With the knowledge and guidance of Dr. Glenn Seifert, she became a New York State licensed optician and licensed contact lens dispenser.  Over time, she became the practice manager alongside balancing her regular opticianry duties.  She started her own third-party billing company EyeCD billing Services in 2017.  Lisa is currently a NYS licensed optician; NYS licensed contact lens dispenser; active member of the American Board of Opticianry; active member of the National Contact Lens Dispensers.  She is also a fellow of the National Academy of Opticianry and the Essilor Academy. Lisa is the Lead Optician. 

On August 31, 2021, Dr. Seifert proudly handed the reins of his 42+ year Optometric business-Seifert Eye Associates over to Lisa and Roy. They purchased Seifert Eye Associates and created Legacy Optical. She has 4 children; 2 stepchildren, their spouses/partners and 5 granddaughters; 2 grandsons and 1 on the way.  In her spare time, she loves spending time with Roy, her children, and grandchildren.  She is on the Legacy Eye Ballers Bocce team which plays every year from May to October at Centro 336 in Hampton Bays. She also loves playing games on her phone, binge watching TV shows, visiting with friends/family and going on vacation to her favorite spot of St. Maarten. 

Dr. Kyle Keyser is a former employee of Seifert Eye Associates and will be joining Legacy Optical as an Optometrist / Owner. He was originally hired at the practice as a lab technician at the age of 17. While working as a lab technician, he attended Stony Brook University for his undergraduate studies. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Stony Brook University in 2015. Dr. Keyser then went on to pursue his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. He graduated from Salus University alongside his wife, Dr. Alyssa Flanagan Keyser, in 2019.

Dr. Keyser completed a clinical rotation in Ocular Disease at the Veteran’s Affairs Hospital in Manchester, NH. He also completed a clinical rotation at the Feinbloom Center for Low Vision and Rehabilitation Services at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated with Honors and Clinical Excellence in Low Vision, Primary Eye Care, and Contact Lenses. 

Dr. Keyser has special interests in Glaucoma, Ocular Disease, Low Vision, and Neuro-Ophthalmic Diseases. He is currently a TPA certified optometrist in the state of New York.

Dr. Alyssa Flanagan Keyser is an Optometrist at Legacy Optical. Dr. Flanagan earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2015. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia, where she met her husband, Dr. Kyle Keyser, where they graduated in 2019.

Her clinical training included extensive ocular disease management at the Veteran’s Affairs Hospital in Manchester, NH as well as a rotation at the Pediatric and Binocular Vision Services Center at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated with Honors and Clinical Excellence in Pediatric and Binocular Vision, Primary Care, and Contact Lenses. 

Dr. Flanagan provides Comprehensive Eye Care, with a special interest in Binocular Vision and Pediatrics, as well as Ocular Disease and Dry Eye Management.

Dr. Kristin Orabone has been an employee of our practice, formerly Seifert Eye Associates, since 2005. Dr. Orabone graduated from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. She then completed her residency at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Newington, CT specializing in Primary Eye Care and Ocular Disease. She began practicing on Long Island in 2003. Dr. Orabone is currently a TPA certified optometrist in the state of New York and an active member of the New York State Suffolk County Optometric Association.

Tyhler Keyser began working at our office, formerly Seifert Eye Associates, in 2015. He is our Lead Lab Technician -- he cuts lenses for glasses and assists in optical dispensing and frame adjustments. He also performs some Optometric Technician duties.

Sarah began working in our office in the fall of 2021. She performs optometric pre-testing which collects preliminary patient data for our doctors. She also assists with front desk reception duties as well.

Jessica assists the office with remote insurance and billing. She is also the owner's daughter. When not helping with billing, she spends time with her 3 beautiful children as a stay-at-home Mom.
